Around 2.65 lakh children in Chhattisgarh have been freed from malnutrition thanks to the nutritious foods and special care provided under the Mukhayamantri Suposhan Abhiyan, an official statement said.
Under the campaign, pregnant mothers and children receive nutritious food and ready-to-eat meals at Anganwadi centres.
Anganwadi workers and assistants also closely monitor the affected children through home visits.
People are also encouraged to grow green vegetables in their kitchen gardens.
Among the beneficiaries are Lalita Bai and her twin children, who were underweight from birth.
Lalita diligently followed the instructions of the Anganwadi workers and applied the Kangaroo mother-care method.
They were provided protein powder, which proved highly beneficial. It took two years for both children to fully recover. They are now in good health.
