A 132 KV power sub station was established in Sukma recently which will ensure uninterrupted electric supply to the Maoist infested district.
Till now power supply was being done from Barsur and Kirandul, officials informed.
The sub station which was constructed with a cost of Rs 23 crore had been extended with 18 kilometres 132 KV tower line. This will ensure uninterrupted power supply to 193 villages of the district.
Notably, the Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company limited (CSPTCl) invited tender for the work for four times but no one came to bid for it. Ultimately the transmission company itself took up the task and constructed the sub station departmentally.
The capacity of the sub station is 40 MVA and is designed in such a way that it could be upgraded upto 220 KV sub stations easily. The significant fact in the project was
that it was completed well within the stipulated time limit of one year.
During the start of sub station , Managing Director of CSPTCl, Tripti Sinha, Chief Engineer Jagdalpur, Harsh Gautam, Chief Engineer of CSPTCl, PK Gupta and other senior officials were present.
