Kanker district recorded 179 incidents of Naxal violence, while witnessing 14 deaths and loss of property of over Rs9.08 crore between 2013-14 and November 15 2015, informed State Home Minister Ramsevak Paikra in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Monday.
In a written reply to Congress member Shankar Dhruwa, Paikra said that Rs26,18,14,000 has been approved for the district under Security Related Expenditure (SRE) scheme and for construction of fortified police stations.
The amount has been utilised to provide resources to security forces, develop infrastructure , construct police stations and ensure necessary logistic support, he informed.
He said that of approved amount, Rs 8,65,16,100 has been utilized for construction works.
