Seventeen snakes were rescued from two snake charmers in Daltonganj late on Wednesday afternoon.
A team of an NGO, AFNC (Adhikari Foundation For Nature Conservation) led by Jyoti and her co rescuer Anshika rescued these 17 snakes with little support from the crowd as one woman in the crowd watching these charmers doing sportive play with the snakes had had her serious objections to the rescue of the snakes said sources.
The two snake charmers fled from the scene leaving behind the 17 snakes and the wooden baskets which the AFNC team took possession of.
