With a view to stopping misuse of electricity and its theft across the State, a joint team of Vigilance Cell and High Tension (HT) squad registered 1651 cases of electricity theft and 4205 cases of misuse of electricity during the raid besides imposing fine of `1591.98 lakh on the power consumers in the current fiscal, Vijay Kumar Mishra, Senior Public Relations Officer of Chhattisgarh State Power Holding Corporation ltd (CSPHCl) in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
CSPHCl has target to examine 36100 power connections across the State out of which 27852 connections have been examined whereas the company had lodged FIR against 455 power consumers and the petition filed against 129 power consumers in the current fiscal under the drive, he further informed.
