Sixteen Naxalites on Saturday surrendered to the police in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, police said.
Citing disappointment with the Naxalite ideology, the cadres turned in themselves, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava said.
Of the 16, militia member Joga Kunjam (26) was involved in several incidents including attacks on security personnel. The others were active militia members.
So far, 475 Naxalites have given up violence in the district since June last year, the official said.
