Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar informed Chhattisgarh Assembly on Tuesday that a total of 150 persons died due to malaria between 2016 and May 2018.
In a written reply to MlA Dr Vimal Chopda, the Minister informed that during the period, 285443 malaria cases were registered.
The maximum number of persons who died due to malaria during the period were in Bastar numbering 50 followed by Bijapur (29). The casualties in other districts were as follows-Bilaspur (12), Kawardha (11), Kondagaon (6), Balod (5), Bemetara (1), Dantewada (8), Dhamtari (2), Durg (2), Gariaband (4), Janjgir (4), Mahasamund (3), Raigarh (6), Rajnandgaon (1), Sukma (5) and Surajpur (1).
