Security forces detected and defused a 15-kg land mine in the insurgency-hit Bastar district, police said on Wednesday. According to Bastar District Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Yadav, the mine was detected during a search operation conducted in the jungles of Bastarnar region under Kodenar police station.
“Security personnel while carrying out search operations spotted some ‘red and black coloured wires adjacent to a road. Upon close examination, the 15-kg land mine, a Tiffin bomb, detonator and electric wire were covered. The bombs were defused on the spot,” the SP said.
