Chhattisgarh Police on Thursday arrested 15 persons involved in arson and vandalism at a private steel plant in Siltara area on the outskirts of Raipur city, police said.
As many as 140 employees of the company who were on strike over wage related issues tried to forcefully open the main door during the protest, an official communication said. They pelted stones injuring six police personnel when the police tried to stop them, it said. They set ablaze a police van and a policeman's motorcycle. The protesters damaged glass windows, a computer and other items inside the company premises, the statement said.
