140 'Smart Classrooms' for Balrampur Govt schools

Chhattisgarh Government would be setting up ‘Modem integrated Smart Classrooms’ in the 140 Government schools in the district, officials stated.

During November last year, the Chhattisgarh Government had decided to set up  smart classrooms in a total of 25 Government schools in the insurgency-infested Kanker district of Bastar region.

The classes are being established to enhance the learning outcomes of school children using diverse techniques.

One of the techniques is to empower teachers by training them to use multi-media content and interactive techniques, officials stated.

By having the right mix of conventional blackboard based teaching alongwith the interactive multimedia techniques, the administration believes that students will have an improved learning experience which will convert into better learning outcomes, they stated.

The use of multimedia techniques will also help slow learning students to grasp concepts in an easier way. If used appropriately, especially among high school and higher secondary school students, smart class technology will have a multiplier effect in learning outcomes as curriculum in higher classes includes sophisticated concepts which could be taught well with the help of 3D video and

animations. The interaction of technology and content with students and teachers during  teaching –learning process, the students will be all the more attentive to what is being taught in the class.

Notably, the Chhattisgarh Government is also constructing a ‘Mega Science Centre’ at the district level and ‘mini science centres’ in the seven blocks of the insurgency infested district.

The Mega Science Centre is being established at the Kanker district headquarters. Currently, the district does not have any Science Centre or Interactive Museum to help children explore and experience the wonders of science, officials stated.
