Forest Minister Mahesh Gagda informed Chhattisgarh Assembly on Friday that a total of 10,283 trees were cut for the four laning project of Raipur-Bilaspur Highway.
In a written reply to Congress member Arun Vora, the Minister informed that in place of cut trees, there is a provision of afforestation with twice the number of trees to be planted in the affected areas and non forest areas.
There is a provision of planting two times the number of trees in revenue areas, he said.
