A 10-year-old girl was raped by a 35-year-old man in Bilaspur district, who was arrested after the incident. The accused have confessed his crime, informed station house officer (SHO) Sarkanda police station, MS Khan on Tuesday.
According to SHO the incident happened on Monday afternoon while the victim girl was in her home busy doing some household work. “The accused Suresh Rajat (35) son of Sukhnandan Rajat resident of Sarkanda was distant kin of the victim girl,” said SHO and added that the accused is a cook by profession.
The accused on Monday afternoon reached in the house victim girl while her father and mother were out of house on work, SHO informed. He further briefed that the accused lured the girl in the name of getting a frooti cold drink and took her to an isolated place and then sexually exploited the girl.
“After raping the girl the accused even tried to silent the girl by alluring her in the name of giving money,” said SHO.
However the girl told her parents about the entire sordid episode who then reported the incident to Sarkanda police,” maintained SHO.
The accused was then arrested around 3’O Clock on Monday night and was subjected to intense interrogation where he confessed of committing the heinous offence, maintained SHO.
The accused has been booked under the Section 376 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 3(A), 4,7 and 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
