Wonderful union of artistes, litterateurs, cultural workers, art critics, journalists, electronic media and art connoisseurs can be seen at the ten-day historic 29th Chakradhar Samaroh, organized under the joint aegis of the culture department, district administration with public participation at the Ramleela Maidan at Pawan Dhara of Raigarh, which is known as music, art and cultural city, from September 9.
At the meeting of artistes’ selection and wrestling and kabaddi competition committees held here the other day, collector Mukesh Bansal said that selection of most of the artistes participating in the programmes this year had been done so far. Famous artiste of the country, Pandit Birju Maharaj, will start the cultural programme with his Kathak performance at the inaugural function on September 9.
Similarly, special attraction of the Samaroh would be the singing of Padmashree Ustad Rasid Khan on September 10, Vijay Ghate’s tabala recitation on September 11, Badali brothers Padmashree Ustad Pooranchand Wadali and Ustad Piyarelal Wadali’s singing on September 14, Kavi Sammelan on September 15, Isha Deol’s dance on September 16 and performances of other famous artistes.
The collector also discussed at detail about the light and sound show programme to be held at the Palace and the three-day-long wrestling and kabaddi competitions.
He said that in the 10-day Samaroh, organized on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, in memory of Sangeet Samrat of Raigarh, Maharaj Chakradhar Singh, country’s top artistes in the field of singing, music, dance, recitation would be participating.
