Published on:

General Administration Department, Government of Chhattisgarh has issued guidelines for issuing the income and property certificate for the economically weaker section (EWS).

The guidelines have been issued in line with the Government of India’s decision to provide 10 percent reservation to EWS in jobs and education.

Sub Divisional Officer (Revenue)/Tehsildhar has been made competent authority for issuing the certificates.

The EWS applicant will have to fill the specified application form for obtaining the ‘income and property certificate’. The required documents have to be attached with the application.

All the competent authorities will have to adopt same procedure, which is in place for issuing the income certificate. Before issuing the certificate prior announcement and claims and objections will not be undertaken.

The SDO (Revenue) and Tehsildhar will have the power to issue certificates only under their jurisdiction. In case of rejection by the competent authority, the applicant can make the first appeal before the concerned    district collector and second appeal before the Divisional Commissioner.
