‘Will be CM till High Command tells me’

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said he held his office due to the Congress High Command and he will step down as a disciplined party worker the day he is asked to do so.

Asked about the "two-and-a-half tenure" formula, Baghel said it is the media which is raising the question repeatedly. "If adding 2 and 2 is 4, then the answer 4 will not change even if asked thousands of times. So is the answer on the issue."

Baghel and Health Minister T. S. Singh Deo arrived from New Delhi on Sunday after attending the funeral of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh a day         earlier.

Baghel told the media that the state BJP leaders cannot question their own Prime Minister on any key issue. None of the nine BJP MPs from Chhattisgarh was considered for a Ministerial berth, he said.

He said the day the Centre provides enough vaccines, the state will administer it as quickly as it can.

He accused the Modi government of partiality in allocating chemical fertilizers, saying BJP states have got the maximum allocation while non-BJP states have been denied enough quantity.
