He was chairing the second review meeting with regional officers from Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg-Bhilai, Raigarh, Korba, Ambikapur and Jagdalpur within a month at CECB headquarters here.

The Minister while appreciating the urban solid waste management practices taken up in Bilaspur, he directed the officials to implement it in all other Municipal Corporations of the state.

Akbar said, “Make sure that as per Chhattisgarh Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) ,specified quantity in bio-mass plant instead of hay should be burnt and  more coal is not burnt. The regional officers should inspect all the bio-mass plants.”

The Minister directed the officials to ensure time-bound action against all the industries violating the environmental laws.

Reviewing the status of plantation by industries, the Minister directed the Regional Officers to submit the status of plantation carried out by major industries by March 15. The fly ash should be used for filling the open cast mines while pollution should be minimised during transportation from coal washeries, he said.
