In a bid to protect standing crops in the fields from stray cattle, a ‘Roka Chheka’ drive will be initiated across Chhattisgarh from July 6.
In an appeal, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel asked all people associated with farming to initiate tying their cattle in the Gauthans of their villages from July 6 to 17.
Emphasizing that the work of sowing and planting has commenced, the Chief Minister said it was crucial to protect the crops from stray animals.
He said this while addressing an event organized to distribute funds to the beneficiaries of the Godhan Nyay Yojana on Wednesday.
Chhattisgarh is known as the ‘rice bowl’ in the country. In the previous Kharif season, it contributed the most to the Central bridge, Baghel said.
He said that today all crops are getting good prices in Chhattisgarh. There will be no shortage of fertilizers and seeds. He appealed to the farmers to use more and more organic fertilizers and pesticides.
