‘Mission Shakti’ last-ditch attempt by Modi to retain power: CM

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday claimed that “Mission Shakti” announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a day earlier was his last-ditch attempt to win Lok Sabha elections, and pointed out that India has the anti-satellite (ASAT) missile capacity since 2012.

Baghel while talking to media before proceeding to Kurud to address a public rally said the attempt would go in vain.

Modi had actually accepted his defeat and that was why despite the poll code of conduct being enforced, he made the announcement, the CM alleged.

“The BJP is such a party that tries to take credit of works done by others. It has mastered this art,” he further added.

Later addressing a public meeting at Kurud in Dhamtari district, the chief minister lambasted Modi and said the ‘chowkidar’ was not working properly so there was an urgent need to replace him.

“After five years, it is now the time to review the claims and execution of the Modi government. It’s achievements is nil”, he said.

“Modi had promised ‘Achhe Din’ but it never came for common people. The good days were only for Modi, (Amit) Shah and (Arun) Jaitley,” he added.

The ‘Bure Din’ of them had started now and in the upcoming elections the people of country would dethrone them, Baghel said.
