Hard work and dedication for my constituency would pay me dividends. It would certainly fetch me victory in the polls this time round”, said Congress candidate from Raipur (West) Vikas Upadhyay.

Upadhyay is locked in a direct contest from Raipur (West) constituency against BJP candidate Rajesh Munat.

Upadhyay while talking to The Pioneer remarked : “Facing all odds, I had to fight against the bigwigs who tried every trick to retain the seat ”, he said.

Even though losing the last assembly poll with the same opponent, I didn’t give up and was dedicatedly active in the constituency for the entire period of five years, he said.

Being District Congress President I actively led the agitations whether it were of social organizations, slum dwellers, small businessmen or transporters, Upadhyay added.

I firmly stood behind the people in trouble and tried my level best to help them and sort out their grievances, he said.

With all my efforts and hard work, I am sure that people of my constituency have voted for me and I would win the elections with considerable margin, he claimed.

“Coming from simple middle class family with no political background and without having any godfather in political arena I had reached this status and becoming a legislator would be a great achievement for me”, he said.
