India has emerged as a major player in modern IT world, however on the hardware front there is much to be achieved, opined Prof Yee Shi Chang, a Taiwanese legislator. He was addressing a gathering of start-up enthusiasts and engineering students here on Friday.

He suggested that if youth start producing electronic parts in the country then it can boost the financial growth of the nation.

“Engineering students can make Chhattisgarh a technical hub by starting small industries and Taiwan will help Chhattisgarh in this direction,” Prof Chang said.

According to the Taiwanese legislator, Taiwan is a nation which does not have much in the form of natural resources and annually about 200       earthquakes hit it.

Despite the odds, Taiwan is developing rapidly and one of the main factors fuelling this growth is huge production of electronic products by its small industries, he said.

Earlier, CEO Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) KC Devsenapati said that this is a good chance to being start up and students through small start ups can   promote a new culture in Chhattisgarh.

Vijay Mahajan from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Contemporary Studies also addressed the gathering.
