‘Doctor Tumcho Dwaar’ gains momentum in Bastar

The ‘Doctor Tumcho Dwaar’ project launched by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in Kondagaon district is gaining momentum. The doctors are now reaching inaccessible areas on a call.

Baghel, while launching the project on June 6, had said that with the doctors reaching the remote areas will help to revolutionise healthcare access in the state, an official communication said.

Thanks to the project, the tribal community members in inaccessible villages are gaining the services of a doctor at their doorstep.

The trained doctors and paramedical staff are visiting the homes of patients, offering free check-ups, treatment and medication.

The team is making referrals for further treatment based on the patient’s health. The initiative has particularly benefited the elderly and immobile patients who are unable to seek medical help outside their homes. At present, medical services are being extended at Baderajpur and Farasgaon blocks. The district administration had also started a 24-hour call centre.
