Digital Wellbeing Index (DWI), a system to check mobile or other digital device addiction, was launched on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day 2020.
The index has been formed by Chhattisgarh-based psychologist Dr Jawahar Surisetti.
“DWI is capable of measuring the extent of digital well-being of a person. Digital addiction is one of the major components of mental health these days,” Surisetti said in a press release.
During the ongoing Covid situation and lockdowns, people are forced to stay indoors. It has impacted the consumption patterns of Internet data, use of mobile phones and social media, TV watching, PCs, laptops and tablets.
All these have impacted the mental health of a person. To measure the impact, WDI has been developed, Surisetti said.
The DWI exercise is available for free on websitewww.digitalwellbeingindex.com
The website will measure the extent of one’s addiction to mobile and digital devices and offer suggestions on reducing the addiction, the press release added.
