Congress has given slogan for eradication of poverty (Garibi Hatao) but on ground for last 70 years did nothing as they did not have any clear cut policy for it, said Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh while addressing a election meeting at Bilaigarh on Sunday.
“The poor became poorer; they started to migrate in search of menial work. Hunger death became common. Did Congress make scheme for distribution of rice, salt or housing. Did they give health smart card? Did they give bicycle to girls or gas-cylinder? When nothing was given then why they were being given vote. This is what I had come to say,” said Chief Minister wooing the electors present.
Congress started to raise the concern for poor in year 2003 after BJP came to power. “Now again election is approaching. The friends in Congress would be making huge promises to people, would raise slogans but the country have seen that there is no strength left in them. Only six percent part of country has representation of Congress while 75 percent is BJP.
“The Congress leaders had neglected the concerns of common man. Had not done the works as per promises made therefore has shrunk. The level of politics within Congress has nosedived to such that state Congress president wants to win elections through different CDs. The developmental issues are missing,” said Raman Singh.
“People’s cooperation is required to push the development pace on higher note next five years. To form BJP government in state then a BJP MLA has to be elected. Seeking the blessings of this soil, election is not limited to state but whole country is eagerly watching it. It would be outcome of the work having done by state government for the village, poor and farmers and also the schemes that linked all for overall welfare. It would be also the result of impact of work done,” he added.
