A two-year-old child, Shivansh, from               village Chhichhli in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district got a new lease of life after getting surgery for congenital heart defect under the Chirayu Yojana.

Shivansh's mother Pratima Yadav said she can't contain her happiness after seeing her child smiling. She expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

The boy's surgery was performed at SMC Hospital, Raipur.

The scheme is proving to be a boon for children in remote and far-flung areas. Under this, children suffering from serious diseases get free treatment.

The Chhattisgarh government makes all arrangements to treat children in renowned hospitals and bears all expenses.

After receiving information about the boy, the district's Chirayu eam entered it on the dedicated portal. He was sent to SMC Hospital for heart surgery.

Meanwhile, as many as 15 Chirayu teams are functioning in Jashpur district. Each team visits Anganwadi and government schools to screen the health of children and ensure arrangements for their treatment if they             suffer from serious ailments.
