Chhattisgarh Olympic Association (COA) and Sports and youth welfare department are jointly organizing ‘Chhattisgarhi Khel Madai’ (State Traditional Sports Festival) on February 20 and 21 at Patan, district Durg.
The main aim of the event is to promote the traditional sports among the youth as per the directive of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, states an official communication.
On Wednesday, as part of the preparations, selection trials among boys and girls for the traditional state events were held at Patan, the hometown of the Chief Minister. Some of the events for which selection trials were led are Ghedi, Bhaunra (spinning top), phugadi and others.
Earlier, the COA secretary general Gurucharan Singh Hora, Sports Coordinator G S Bambra, organizing committee incharge Dr Atul Shukla and members visited the event site to oversee the preparations of hosting the event.
