BJP national vice president and former chief minister Raman Singh claims a sense of fear and terror prevails in Chhattisgarh after Congress government took over the reins. The government has failed in all sectors and even has not kept its poll promises. The power sector scenario is also grim.

Singh was addressing the half-day long sit-in-demonstration organized by state BJP at capital city, Raipur and at all district headquarters of the state on Saturday.

BJP state president Vikram Usendi led protest at Kanker while Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik at Korba. A delegation then handed over a representation to the State Governor at Raipur and to respective collector at district headquarters.

Raman Singh said, “During Lok Sabha election, the Congress had claimed that it would win all 11 seats buoyed by the emphatic win of 68 seats in the assembly elections in which the BJP was restricted to 15. But pained by the attitude of the government, people once again reposed faith in BJP by giving it 10 seats out of 11 in the parliamentary elections.”

The law-and-order situation is such that in Bastar the BJP lost its MLA Bheema Mandavi to terror attack, he said, adding during the BJP government's tenure Naxalites were cornered.

Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik at Korba said, Congress government lured the innocent people by series of false promises now, most of the central schemes are being shut down. Power charges was reduced to half against which supply has also been reduced. Similarly, prohibition was promised instead the timing for sales of liquors has also been enhanced. The talks are on to sell rice at Rs 10 kilogram while the sand mining has been handed over to contractors instead of Panchayats, he added.
