‘40% of I-Tax disputes resolved in C’garh’

Out of 8,087 income tax related disputes in Chhattisgarh, 3,265 have been successfully resolved, R.K. Paliwal, Principal Chief Commissioner of the Income Tax Department Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, said here on Tuesday. This is the best showing for any state.

The dispute resolution and settlement rate in the state was 40 percent, the highest ever compared to any other state in India, Paliwal told the media.

Praising the state's income tax payers, he said they had shown confidence in the department’s ‘Vivad se Vishwas scheme 2020’.

The scheme aims to bridge the lack of trust between the I-Tax Department and taxpayers. During the dispute resolving process, the taxpayers are not compelled to visit the I-Tax office.

Paliwal said the I-Tax collection suffered in the first quarter during the Covid19 crisis but as of now it has been revived.
