The rains are here and with it a dull looking skin and an array of other problems especially if one has oily skin. Therefore, it is important to follow a proper regimen during this season to restore the glow, says ROSHNI DEVI
Believe it or not but though the pitter-patter brings the much-needed relief from the blazing heat, it does make people with oily skin break out in many problems like more acne, dullness and inflammation. However, following a regular regimen can restore the glow to the face. Here are a few things that one can do.
There was a reason why my mother would insist and we made a face mask using chandan powder. It helps in healing acne and other skin breakouts. It also works as a natural moisturiser. Take a bowl, add a teaspoon of turmeric, rosewater and sandalwood powder and mix well. Apply this paste and leave it to dry on the face. Wash it off with water.
Another mask that one can make is using 200ml rose water, a teaspoon of camphor powder and one teaspoon of dried mint powder. Mix all the ingredients into a paste. Pour it in an air tight bottle and refrigerate. Use this to clean your face two-three times in a day.
Peaches are in the market and one can make a great face pack using them. Mash one tomato and peach to make a paste. Apply the mixture on the face. Leave it for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with water.
