We all want a smooth and supple skin. But during winters, it tends to become chapped and feels itchy. ROSHANI DEVI shares amazing home remedies that will keep the skin healthy this season

Back in the days when we were kids many health related issues always found a treatment in our kitchens. We didn’t have fancy creams or lotions to keep our skin soft. There were ingredients that would take care of any problems that arose.

The most important thing to keep in mind is — never take a bath with hot water. Though it feels great to do so in this season, it also washes away essential oils that keep the skin supple. Try lukewarm water instead.

We also drink less water in winters which can cause dryness and itchiness. Keep yourself hydrated. Drink at least eight to 10 glasses of water.

Most households have honey (use organic honey) during this season. Take a teaspoon of honey and massage on the skin daily. Leave it on for 10 minutes and wash. Pat dry.

Use milk. Wipe your skin with full fat milk twice a day. Pat dry. Milk is one of the best moisturisers for the skin.

Don’t underestimate the power of a banana. Mash a ripe banana and massage the skin with the pulp. The fruit contains  potassium and Vitamins E and C which gives you a glowing skin.

Use lemon juice with honey and milk. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Wash off, pat dry. It will leave your skin feeling soft.
