When winter comes and winter recedes, there’s flu in the air. Roshani Devi tells you some home-grown remedies to be fit
You may not like the word kaadaa but it works like magic when savoured thrice a day alongside salt gargles.
In two cups of water put a handful of tulsi leaves, lemon grass leaves, crushed ginger, crushed black peppercorns and some tea leaves if you like. Boil the concoction till it reduces to half. Sieve into a cup, add a teaspoon of honey and sip slowly.
Go for a salt gargle after this for soothing your throat ache.
For a therapeutic drink, combine a teaspoon of wild honey with the juice extracted from 10 to 15 fresh basil leaves and have it once a day.
Your sniffles, blocked nose, sore throat will be back to normal within two days.
All done, do not forget to have your lunch and dinner with raw onion and salt on the side. The combo has worked for my cough and cold for decades.
