Cooking & getting burnt is commonplace as are the ways to treat it at home. Which one is the best  to get quick results and minimum painij ROSHANI DEVI lists a few

Even doctors will tell you that the first thing for a minor burn is to put the burnt area under running water for about 15-20 minutes to take the heat out from the burn. But remember the golden rule: It is cook water and not cold water as many people do.

Second, use aloe vera. This is a common ingredient in many of the creams and   moisturisers today. If you have a fresh plant, take the gel from that and apply it on the burnt area.

The plant has natural anti-inflammatory properties  and has antibacterial properties that stop bacteria from growing.

If you have honey at home, use that on the minor burn. Honey also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It soothes burned skin, easing some of the pain.

Another good way to treat the minor burns is coconut oil which is full of Vitamin E. The oil serves a dual purpose; it not only treats the burn but also heals the skin. For the post burn marks, mix half a teaspoon of lemon juice to a teaspoon of coconut oil and massage on the area. The acidic properties in the lemon helps lighten the mark.

It goes without saying that burn develops blisters, don’t pop them. Bursting them can lead to infections.

Also, avoid exposing the burn to direct sunlight. The burnt skin will be very sensitive to the sun. Keep it covered.
