Summers are here and so is the problem of sun rashes or allergies which appear as welts or red bumps on the skin. But by following a few home remedies one can get rid of them, says ROSHANI DEVI
Staying in a tropical country like ours, it is difficult to avoid the sun and the problems that come with it like sun burn, rashes and welts. These can be really itchy and painful. Even though we live in a country where the sun blazes down on our heads for more than 10 months in a year, it doesn’t mean that one can’t be allergic to the sun. But fret not, there are some simple home remedies that can take care of it.
Do not forget the rule of thumb — drink lots of fluids — preferably water. Fresh coconut water is good too.
Given the benefits of aloe vera everyone is growing it — in their kitchen garden if they have one or in a pot. Most of us know the benefits of applying the gel as it is a great cooling agent and can reduce the red rashes almost immediately.
Believe it or not green tea and black tea is not only good for health, it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. They help reduce the number of sunburns cells, and protects the skin from UV damage. Prepare both teas separately. Once cool put both the liquids in a spray bottle. Spray the liquid over the exposed parts of the body and then apply sunscreen.
Apply grated raw potato on the skin. It has a cooling and soothing effect.
