To have thick and lustrous hair, many people go for expensive shampoo, conditioner and hair   treatment. Here are some home remedies that will help you achieve that the natural way, says ROSHANI DEVI

Thick long hair adds charm to the personality but in the hustle bustle of daily life, we tend to forget to take care of it. There are new shampoos and conditioners in the market that claims to give you thick, bouncy, glossy hair, but nothing can beat the home remedies. With zero risks of side effect, here are some dadi’s secrets to try out:

  • Apply a mixture of Aloe Vera and triphala from scalp to hair ends regularly for 3 to 6 months.
  • Take equal quantities of dried curry leaves, lemon peels, shikakai, fenugreek seeds and green gram and grind it finely. Store in a cool and dry place, and use instead of a shampoo.
  • Mix equal volumes of honey and water & rub into your hair after shampooing. leave it for 3 minutes & rinse off.
  • Boil one cup of mint leaves (even green tea will do) in three cups of water for 15 minutes. Strain and wash your hair with it after shampooing. After 2-3 minutes rinse off well.
  • Make a hair mask by mixing one raw egg, one cup of curd, two tablespoons of lemon juice & almond oil. Mix well & massage into your scalp. leave on for about 20 minutes before washing. You can replace almond oil with the contents of two vitamin-E capsules.
  • Mix one tablespoon honey, one tablespoon milk & two raw eggs. Apply this mask on your hair spreading it from root to tip. Wash it out with water after 10 minutes.
  • Make a hair mask by mixing five tablespoons of amla (Indian gooseberry) powder, five tablespoons of shikakai powder, five tablespoons of brahmi powder, one tablespoon of lemon juice & some curd. Apply it to your hair & rinse out after 15 minutes.
