A fresh policy lets people turn rapid-transit trains into moving party spaces, blending travel with personalised events. People can now book Namo Bharat coaches and stations between Delhi and Meerut, bringing their celebrations on the tracks. Under the new policy, individuals, event organisers and photography or media companies can book static or running Namo Bharat coaches. A mock-up coach at the Duhai Depot is also available for static shoots.

The starting price is `5,000 per hour. Each booking includes an additional 30 minutes on either side for setting up and removing decorations or equipment. In a policy announced on Saturday, the NCRTC said Namo Bharat trains and stations can now be booked for personal milestone events, including birthday gatherings, pre-wedding shoots and other private occasions.

“Built to international standards of comfort and safety, Namo Bharat coaches offer a distinctive setting for celebrating special occasions. Individuals, event or wedding organisers, and photography or media companies can now book Namo Bharat coaches, static or running, as permitted under the policy issued by NCRTC. Each option provides a unique environment that blends modern design with the novelty of celebrating aboard India’s first regional rail, and turning the event into timeless memories,” it said. The 55-km RRTS corridor, from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South, with 11 stations, is now operational.

The facilities may be personalised with simple decorations, subject to guidelines, the corporation stated, adding that the celebrations will be permitted only between 6 am and 11 pm and will be organised in a way that does not disrupt train operations or inconvenience commuters.

All activities will take place under the supervision of NCRTC staff and security personnel to ensure safety and adherence to operational protocols, it said. With stations located at key points such as Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad and Meerut South, the initiative is expected to attract residents across the Delhi-Meerut corridor, offering them a familiar yet unusual space to mark special moments, it said.

“Every day, thousands of commuters travel by Namo Bharat, each carrying their own stories of journeys made, loved ones met, and dreams pursued. As these lives intersect, new stories also take shape, and Namo Bharat stands witness to them all. Now, the same space that connects people across the region also opens its doors for them to celebrate their special moments, making their milestones a part of the Namo Bharat story itself,” it said.

NCRTC also has a comprehensive policy for renting out premises, including Namo Bharat stations and trains for events, including film and documentary shootings. These spaces are available for short-term hire for feature films, television commercials, documentaries, and other visual projects. Filmmakers have the opportunity to capture the futuristic design and aesthetic appeal of Namo Bharat stations and train settings that align with global standards and enhance the visual quality of any production, offered at competitive rates.
