Won't spare anyone trying to disturb harmony: HM

Published on:

In a strong rebuttal to charges of growing intolerance in the country, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday pointed out that while internal sectarian strife prevailed in several Islamic countries, India was the home of “Sufi Islam” and all other streams of the religion were safe and prospering in harmony here.

The Home Minister announced in the lok Sabha that anyone trying to disturb the harmony of the country would not be spared even as he expressed his readiness to order a CBI probe into incidents like the Dadri lynching and Kalburgi’s murder, if requests were sent to him by the respective State Governments.

While concluding his address where he claimed that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP that were the targets of “intolerance,” he appealed to writers, artistes and scientists, who have returned their awards, to take them back, saying he was willing to discuss their apprehensions and suggestions.
