The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a woman lawyer, who had allegedly honey-trapped BJP MP
from Gurajat’s Valsad KC Patel and tried to extort Rs 5 crore from him.
Police claimed to have recovered video clip and certain electronic devices from the accused but did not divulge details whether the clip pertains to the obscene video of the MP.
However, police claimed that investigation carried out so far has revealed that the woman had foxed some 15 people by using the same modus operandi. There is evidence to suggest that some police personnel were involved in this racket as her fictitious complaints were entertained by them, police said.
“We raided the Indirapuram house of the woman and recovered the electronic devices and video. They will be sent to the forensic lab for further analysis,” police official said. Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi district, BK Singh, said more will be revealed in the coming days as she will be questioned at length.
