National daily The Pioneer launched its Hindi edition from Faridabad in Haryana on Tuesday. The daily will have 32 pages on Wednesday edition to mark its opening with special features and
separate pages of Gurugram, Faridabad and other cities. It will have 16 pages on week days.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar, the guest of honour on this occasion, appreciated the efforts of paper’s Editor-in Chief Dr Chandan Mitra and The Pioneer group.
“The role of the media is vital as it is the fourth pillar of democracy. I have discarded caste politics, and my Government’s slogan is: Haryana ek, Haryanavi ek. We have also curbed corruption by opening Atal Seva Kendras where 170 services are being provided to people,” the Chief Minister said.
“We don’t have machinery to generate employment to all. Keeping this in mind, we called for investment summit in Gurugram last year which attracted more than 400 investments. My Government’s first priority is to provide jobs to all youths,” Khattar told the audience.
The Pioneer began its journey in 1865 and currently it has pan-India presence while it has four Hindi editions from Delhi, lucknow, Raipur and now from Faridabad.
Speaking on the content of the Hindi newspaper, Dr Mitra said, “It is our responsibility to provide quality news to readers. Everything has changed but the credibility of The Pioneer has been intact. We will win hearts of the people here by providing them quality content in presentable format.”
The Editor-in Chief said the daily will follow the high principles for which The Pioneer has always stood for. “There will be no compromise in quality of news for the Hindi readers. We will contribute in taking Haryana on the way of development,” he added.
