A suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) on Wednesday shot dead four members of a distantly-related family over minor dispute in Uttawar Village in Palwal, Haryana.
Yahiya Khan used his prohibited bore service fire arm in committing the crime. The Victims were identified as Deen Mohahammad (65) and his son Razzaq, nephews Hamid Khan (27) and Nasim (19).
The incident happened when someone from one group passed some “objectionable” remarks on a woman from the rival group, said Palwal SP Rajesh Duggal.
The SP, however, said they are yet to confirm if the accused was a Haryana policeman. “They (the eyewitnesses) told us that the woman was relative of the ‘suspended personnel,” Duggal added.
