A day after the termination of of service of two senior IPS officers, the Centre on Wednesday dismissed senior IAS officer K Narasimha over corruption and disproportionate assets. Narasimha, a 1991 batch officer from UT cadre, was arrested by the CBI in 2008 after the agency unearthed huge assets in his name in several parts of the country. He was posted in Chandigarh after the Delhi High Court stayed his suspension in 2014.
The “premature retirement” of the officer is under the clauses invoking “not fit for public service” and “in the public interest” of All India Civil Service Rules-1958, a Government order said.
On Tuesday, Home Ministry had issued dismissal orders for Mayank Sheel Chohan, a 1998 batch UT cadre IPS officer, and Raj Kumar Dewangan, a 1992 batch Chhattisgarh cadre IPS officer over corruption.
