Sanjay Dutt gets azadi
Published on:

Sanjay Dutt may have been acquitted by the trial court of terror charges in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case more than nine years ago, but the emotional actor on Thursday insisted that he was not a terrorist and had no role to play in the blasts, hours after he walked out of Pune’s Yerwada Jail after serving his jail term for an offence under the Arms Act.

“There is no easy walk to freedom, my friends,” Sanjay told mediapersons earlier in the morning when he headed to Mumbai from Pune, 23 years after he was arrested for possessing and destroying a prohibited Kalashnikov assault rifle, which incidentally was a part of a cache of arms and explosives that had landed in India prior to the March 12, 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
