RSS tightens grip on BJP to ensure lS win

Special arrangements are being made in the RSS to assist the BJP during the lok Sabha elections next year. This issue is expected to be discussed during the Manthan Shivir, a seven-day meet, of the RSS at Amravati that began on Tuesday.

The RSS wants the BJP to remain a cohesive group and present a united face before the people. "Certain arrangements are being made by the RSS to address the needs of the party before and during the election. There is nothing unusual about it. It is a normal practice," BJP sources told The Pioneer.

Clarity over these arrangements is expected only after the meet concludes.

Three top leaders of the party - lK Advani, Rajnath Singh and Murli Manohar Joshi - had separately met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur earlier this month and had discussed "issues" in great detail.

BJP's parliamentary board will also meet in the national Capital on July 18 to finalise the number and composition of the sub-panels of the Modi-headed National Campaign Committee. Certain organisational responsibilities and programmes are also expected to be announced on that day.
