Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s promotion of his upcoming film ‘Raees’ that was hit by tragedy on Monday night became mired in controversy on Tuesday with senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya comparing the actor to underworld don and India’s most wanted Dawood Ibrahim.
While Khan regretted the death of a man in the melee at the Vadodara Railway Station, the Railway Ministry has ordered a probe into the tragedy.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu directed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to investigate the matter and take stern action against those responsible for any lapses.
Meanwhile, Vijayvargiya said public convenience should be kept in mind and films should be promoted without causing trouble to people. “Crowds will turn out even if Dawood Ibrahim comes out in public,” Vijayvargiya said targeting Khan over the death of the man during the heavy rush.
Vijayvargiya also took to Twitter to praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hit out at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi using the titles of two upcoming Bollywood films, saying our
country’s ‘Kaabil’ is better than the ‘Raees’ of the other country, apparently referring to Gandhi’s foreign roots.
later, he posted a graphic on Twitter, saying “The ‘Raees’ who is not of his country, he is of no use. One should stand with a ‘Kaabil’ (worthy) patriot. It is now the turn of ‘Kaabil’ people of the country whose rights cannot be taken away by any dishonest ‘Raees’ (wealthy)”.
In another tweet, which was accompanied by a photograph of Modi and Rahul Gandhi, with his torn ‘kurta’, he said, “If someone is ‘Kaabil’, a tea seller can also become a Prime Minister, otherwise a ‘Raees’, who has been born with a silver spoon in his mouth, also wears a torn kurta.”
