Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the results of bypolls reflected the anger of the people against the BJP Governments and now that citizens have made up their mind to vote for any non-BJP candidate with the potential to win.
Congratulating the winners of the lok Sabha bypolls, Rahul said the Congress is keen to rebuild the party in Uttar Pradesh but that would not happen overnight. “Congratulations to the winners of today’s by-elections. It is clear from the results that voters have a lot of anger towards the BJP and will vote for any non-BJP candidate who has more chances of winning. The Congress is keen on rebuilding the party in Uttar Pradesh, but that will not happen overnight,” Rahul tweeted in Hindi.
Congress official spokesman Randeep Surjewala said the BJP has been losing all the lok Sabha bypolls held in recent time including Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ajmer, Alwar, Uluberia, Ratlam and the three seats declared on Wednesday. “2107-18 Report card of BJP is 0/10 as it has lost all seats it contested. The ypoll results have given clear message that people are angry with the ruling regime due to its arrogance and misrule,” said Surjewala, adding that one of its sitting lok Sabha MPs Nana Patole left the BJP and rejoined the Congress blaming the dictatorial policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
