Kavita quits BRS, blames cousin

A day after her suspension from the BRS, K Kavitha resigned from the party and as MLC, accusing cousin Harish Rao of conspiring against her and the KCR family. She alleged that Harish had a secret pact with CM Revanth Reddy and funded MLAs with corrupt money from the Kaleshwaram project. Drawing a “Bahubali” analogy, she questioned Harish’s loyalty. Kavitha claimed her father KCR is under pressure and warned brother KTR of betrayal. Denying plans to join another party, she said conspiracies are aimed to divide the family and damage KCR’s legacy. BRS dismissed her claims as internal matters.

Munjare’s aide denied the charges and accused Srivastava of misconduct. Munjare has declined to comment.

In the Supreme Court hearing on the Presidential Reference regarding delays by Governors and the President in assenting to state bills, the West Bengal Governmentargued that the will of the legislature must not be obstructed by the executive’s “whims and fancies.” Senior advocate Kapil Sibal asserted that the Constitution bars Governors from acting as parallel adjudicators and emphasised urgency under Article 200. Advocates for Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh echoed this, calling indefinite delays undemocratic and unconstitutional. They insisted that Governors are bound by ministerial advice and cannot override legislative sovereignty, warning that misuse undermines federalism and representative democracy.
