MP BJP MLA Threatens DC

A confrontation between BJP MLA Narendra Singh Kushwaha and Bhind District Collector Sanjeev Srivastava over fertilizer shortages has sparked a major controversy in Madhya Pradesh. Kushwaha allegedly threatened the collector during a heated exchange at his residence, after earlier staging a protest. The incident, driven by genuine farmer grievances, has drawn criticism for undermining administrative dignity. The opposition Congress condemned the BJP’s failure to address farmer issues and control its legislators. Party insiders admit the episode is damaging, especially ahead of elections. Disciplinary action against the MLA is under consideration, as fertilizer supply mismanagement remains a recurring issue statewide.

IndiGo Stock Sale in Motion

The Gangwal family, former co-owners of IndiGo, is set to sell over 3 per cent of its stake for $800 million, reducing its ownership below 5 per cent. This marks another step in Rakesh Gangwal’s gradual exit from the airline following a 2022 fallout with co-founder Rahul Bhatia. Past sales occurred regularly, aligning with stock price peaks. The current offering includes over 12 million shares at a slight discount, and may involve a $300 million block deal. Despite market volatility, IndiGo’s stock has surged, enabling Gangwal to profit handsomely. With this sale, total gains could reach `7,000 crore, continuing a well-timed exit strategy.

Indian Football faces FIFA Ban

Indian football faces the threat of a FIFA and AFC suspension if the All India Football Federation (AIFF) fails to adopt and ratify a new constitution by October 30. In a strongly worded letter to AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey, both bodies warned of "no alternative but suspension" unless the Supreme Court finalises and approves the revised constitution. A ban would bar India’s teams and clubs from international play and jeopardise the nation’s 2036 Olympic bid. This isn’t the first warning; India was suspended briefly in 2022 for governance issues. The Supreme Court will take up the matter this week.
