Need to move ahead: Rajnath
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday emphasised there is a need to move ahead with dynamism and innovative spirit in today’s uncertain times and rapidly-changing security scenario, as he also pitched for boosting the civil-military synergy for enhanced military preparedness. Addressing the 84th Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ) Civilian Services Day event at DRDO Bhawan here, he also said that amid uncertain times, “there is no control over unpredictability and our control is only on our preparations”.
To bring all depts under one roof: Govt
Delhi Government plans to bring all its departments under one roof to ensure smooth and seamless functioning, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Friday. She also said the process of identifying a suitable location for constructing a new secretariat will commence soon. At present, Delhi Secretariat is located near Indira Gandhi Stadium in IP Estate. She made the announcement after visiting the Women and Child Development Department office at Kashmere Gate.

First woman DG RPF
Sonali Mishra, a 1993 batch IPS officer from Madhya Pradesh cadre on Friday assumed charge as the new director general of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), marking a historic first in the force’s 143-year journey, the Railway Ministry said. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved her appointment as the director general (DG), RPF, until her superannuation on October 31, 2026. She has also served in the CBI, BSF and has international exposure of having served with the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Kosovo. She has been honoured with prestigious awards, including the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in recognition of her commitment to excellence and professionalism.
