IMF sees 6.4% India GDP growth

The IMF projects India’s GDP growth at 6.4 per cent for fiscal years 2025 and 2026, a slight upward revision due to a more favorable external environment. Growth is driven by reform momentum, robust consumption, and increased public investment. India grew 6.5 per cent in 2024, with priorities including job creation, labor reskilling, infrastructure investment, and easing trade restrictions to sustain momentum. Globally, growth is forecast at three per cent in 2025 and 3.1 per cent in 2026, with China’s growth revised upward to 4.8 per cent in 2025.
