To ensure that not even a single citizen sleeps hungry in Delhi, when lakhs of daily wagers have become unemployed, the Delhi Government on Wednesday announced that those without ration cards will also be given food ration if they apply online through E-district portal.
However, some criticised the requirement to apply online when they can’t even afford food for themselves
"We can't issue ration card but with this process we will have a record of these people and we will provide them ration," Kejriwal said.
"Non-ration card holders will be given ration. To avail it, such people need to apply online and on that basis, we will provide them ration," Kejriwal said.
Around 71 lakh people are being provided 7.5 kgs ration each at the ration shops. But non-ration card holders were a challenge for them, and the Delhi Government has created a system for roughly 10 lakh people
