Two men were arrested on Wednesday for beating a 40-year-old woman Deputy General Manager of a private company black and blue for asking them to remove their cars parked in front of her house in Hauz Khas in South Delhi on Tuesday. The victim has been admitted in AIIMS Trauma Centre.
One of the accused, Amit Chaudhary (26), who runs a restaurant in that area picked up a quarrel with the woman for asking him to remove his car. The altercation turned ugly when the restaurant owner was joined by his associate, Manish Rathore (27), who runs his clothes shop in Karol Bagh. They both started thrashing the woman. Both the accused have been booked for molestation, causing hurt and wrongful confinement, police said.
When the victim returned to her house from work, she found cars of Amit’s customers parked in front of her house. As there was no room for her vehicle there, she asked Amit to remove the parked cars.
“Amit, accompanied with another accused, Manish, came out from his restaurant and started arguing with the victim,” the police officer said. As news of the altercation spread, locals rushed to the spot to intervene, but they were also thrashed by the accused. “A local resident was also hurt in the melee,” the officer added.
