Pakistan wants to talk Kashmir, not terror export

Turning down Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar’s proposal to talk about cross-border terrorism, Pakistan on Friday once again maintained that all it wants to discuss is Kashmir minus terror talks.

In a reply to Jaishankar’s letter sent on Tuesday, Pakistan Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry once again invited him for talks in Islamabad by the end of this month to discuss the “Jammu & Kashmir dispute”, “with a view to finding a fair and just solution, as per the United Nations Security Council

resolutions and aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir,” said Pak Foreign Office in a statement.

The invite was handed over to Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawale on Friday along with reply to the letter by Jaishankar. India is yet to respond to this.

“Pakistan has also called for putting an immediate end to the human rights violations against the innocent people of Indian-occupied J&K, who are struggling for their right of self-determination, and for providing medical facilities to the injured, including the permission for doctors and paramedics to travel,” the statement said.
